Project Engineer

The Stratus and Apollo are newly released high performance ECD and PVD, respectively, tools for thin film deposition on semiconductor wafers. Developing new tool capabilities to meet customer requirements is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an engineer with an interest in complex, interacting systems.
The role of Project Engineer will require demonstrated ability to organize and drive projects from inception through to manufactured product. The candidate will provide day-to-day leadership to a small team and utilize cross-functional teams to successfully complete projects. This candidate must have a background with demonstrated achievement in the area of design, development, analysis and testing of precision mechanisms and complex electro-mechanical systems used in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry. The candidate must be organized, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Overall Accountability
The Project Engineer will be a member of the Advanced Engineering Group. The successful candidate will lead an engineering team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful manufacturing release and will be accountable for finishing assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations.
Engineering Responsibility
- Lead engineering team in the development of new system features or modifications to meet specific market driven needs
- Apply sound engineering principles to the solution of technical problems that may require complex mathematical and engineering calculations.
- Set timelines, assign work, communicate with team, solve problems, and move project toward on-time high quality solutions.
- Generate technical specifications to drive system designs.
- Ensure product meets customer functional, performance, and process requirements.
- Handle multiple priorities, detailed work, and deadlines
Required Experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS Preferred
- 10+ years of capital equipment design experience with recent Project level responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks, or comparable CAD package, including advanced modeling and assembly techniques.
- Must be flexible, analytical, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Will be interacting with multiple departments and working independently.
- The candidate must have a proven track record in transitioning new designs to manufacturing.
