Lead Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilties
- Lead several mechanical and controls engineers, enabling them to work effectively with process and software engineers on new product development.
- Lead development of hardware, automation, fluid and wafer-process sub-systems in semiconductor wet process tools.
- Be a star engineer- both in teamwork and quality of innovation delivered.
- Ensure the best practices in CAD design and data management while being the lead mechanical designer on several advanced technology sub-systems.
- Specify structures, materials, fabrication, actuators, sensors and control elements to provide economical and robust solutions to new equipment sub-systems.
- Design, document and adapt Process Intergration Diagrams (PIDs) and software specifications as part of ongoing system innovation and continuous improvement projects.
- Specify system testing procedures from prototype through reliability analysis.
- Provide CFD, FEA, and Electrostatic analysis to guide co-design work between process and mechanical engineers, modeling directly or contracting with external experts as appropriate, with goal of building internal expertise over several years.
- Direct in-house and external vendor engineers to generate required final design, prototyping, and detailed design documentation to implement sub-systems into production.
Skills and Experience
- MS or PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 10 or more years of experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry; familiarity with wet chemical (acid and solvent) processing is preferred
- Demostrated leadership ability
- Demonstrated track record of innovation, deployment, test and customer follow through
- Computational analysis and CAD design expertise required

Software Test Technician
Role
The Software Test Technician will have the responsibility to test prototype epuipment, implement process experimentation and perform data collection and data analysis under the guidance of software and process engineers. The technician will also operate and maintain complex automated process equipment and chemistry. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented person who would like to work with a talented team of professionals in the challenging field of the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
- De-bug of experimental process equipment for elctroplating and resist strip processing.
- Troubleshoot equipment and identify root cause, whether mechanical, electrical or software.
- Work well with mechanical, software and process engineers to perform tests to prove effectiveness of new technology.
- Implement electroplating process experimentation on the next generation of semiconductor device 3D packaging with guidance from process engineers.
- Organize experimental data and summarize results for process engineers.
- Perform water measurement and data acquisition such as Profilometer, 4-point probe, optical microscope inspection, etc.
Qualifications
- Five+ years working with wet process equipment such as electroplating equipment.
- Class training, research or working experience in chemical lab, material science lab or semiconductor industry is required.
- Software Test Experience.
- Demostrated good written communication skills.

NPI Sr. Sourcing Specialist
Role
The Strategic Sourcing organization is seeking a versatile New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Specialist with a proven track record of successfully driving projects from concept to delivery. Primary focus of this position will be managing all aspects of Strategic Sourcing responsibilities within the engineering NPI process. This position will require a strong focus on customer service, flexibility, and willingness to perform tactical purchasing functions. Candidate must have relevant experience working with technical teams, along with the proven ability to work well with suppliers and internal team members from multiple disciplines. Must have demonstrated ability to work from engineering drawings and material specifications. Knowledge of mechanical manufactured parts is highly preferred; experience in semiconductor equipment technology is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Establish a purchasing process and workflow for engineering/development activities.
- Purchase a components/sub-assemblies/turnkey outsources content, and establish agreements to meet prototype builds and engineering sample demand; complete the invoice reconciliation process for filed orders.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to establish processes for monitoring new product development and NPI configuration release.
- Work with product development teams to negotiate and resolve scheduling conflicts, inventory levels, material shortages, delivery requirements, cost improvements, quality improvements and other material issues.
- Leverage internal and external resources to drive Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost initiatives through engineering and product development teams.
- Work closely with Engineering and Strategic Supply Chain to supply prototype parts in support of engineering projects for new product development and NPI configuration release.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and develop improved processes for New Product Introductions to reduce unit build costs and to reduce product development cycle time.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques routinely used in the development of new products; implement processes to monitor cost reduction initiatives through the development cycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's required (BS Engineering preferred).
- 6-10 years experience in purchasing and/or engineering.
- Manufacturing or product development experience preferred.
- Must have good negotiation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with MRP systems and/or other procurement and financial systems required.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involving planning, resource allocation and supply chain management is required.
- Advanced experiece with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) required.
- Lean experience preferred.

Principal Software Engineer
Role
The candidate will function as a Principal Engineer with responsibilities to develop and support control system software for NEXX Systems' semiconductor processing equipment. The candidate must be familiar with C/C# software development on the Windows XP platform including the development of communication modules and graphical user interfaces. The candidate's primary focus will be on the development of software modules for the integration of various third party semiconductor automation subsystems including distributed IO and EFEM hardware. The candidate will also collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering to develop/improve the overall functionality of the company's processing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for new products, interfacing with NEXX marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and support groups to create the feature list, then delivering those features on time.
- Develop and maintain methods for upgrading software on existing systems in the field that minimize system downtime, concluding with successful restart of the system with full functionality.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of C and C# including object-oriented programming strategies and UML techniques.
- Knowledge of Windows OS architecture with a focus on optimization for control system applications.
- Understanding of CMMI with an implementation goal of Level 3 (Defined).
- Knowledge of device driver development based on both Ethernet and serial protocols.
- Knowledge of software scheduling algorithms focused on throughput maximization utilizing shared resources.
- Knowledge of user interface development.
- Understanding of software and hardware based interlock strategies for production equipment.
- Capability to develop and implement error recovery strategies for production equipment.
- Abilitiy to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff.
Candidates are expected to have a B.S. in computer science or a related field, plus 5-10 years job experience. M.S. in computer science or a related field plus experience with semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment are preferred.
